1. About Me

This page is just to give you an idea as to what this blog is all about. If you came to this page to find answers, you may not get them here as I am as confused as a person can ever be. 😉

My name is Shifa Naseer. I love to write. I find writing a way to express my feelings.

I have my own battles and my own victories ( sneaking potato chips into my room without mom’s knowledge. Trust me, I could win the Nobel Prize for that! 🙂 )

I am lousy at describing myself. Go grab a post and see if you can make out what kind of a person I am. Reading these lines, I am sure you already think I am lazy. Well, I am afraid its true.  😛

My favorite color is blue, all shades of blue. I am a sucker for reading.

I say what is in my mind and apologize if the other finds its offensive. Thats me and if you are unfortunately acquainted with me, you got to deal with it.

I am at sea with my heart as company …. The steady rhythm … My shore is nowhere near me … The water stretches out as far as I can see … I am afraid, believe me!  But I will find land, find my mark. Someday, somehow!

Enjoy my blog and do let me know whether you liked it or not.

Shifa naseer.

  1. Fantastic goods from you, man. I have understand your stuff previous to and you’re just too magnificent. I actually like what you have acquired here, really like what you’re saying and the way in which you say it. You make it enjoyable and you still take care of to keep it wise. I can’t wait to read far more from you. This is actually a great web site.

  2. Shifa, the two poetic thoughts on this page are a beautiful representation of who you are. Thanks for introducing yourself to me. I look forward to reading your work and Urdu poetry.

  3. Hello, Shifa. I’m glad you stopped by my blog today. I hope you find encouragement and blessing there.
I love how you described yourself by not describing yourself. I look forward to getting to know you through your blog.

  4. I believe I will come to enjoy your blog, Shifa! (I love potato chips as well!)

Success to you in your work here…

    Clayton 🙂

      1. I would count on it! I also found candy was good to sneak, it didn’t wind up in crumbs if I ran into a “tight situation!”

        Great day to you.
        Clayton 🙂

  5. I tried to comment on the story you wrote about the teacher that treated you so unkindly. But the post came up “not found”. I remember in senior high school I was looking at a few college catalogs and the math teacher passed by and burst out laughing. I suppose he found it humorous that a stupid person like me would ever consider such a thing. In college from one English professor with whom I took 4 courses , he gave me a C,a D and two F’s. He smirked at and ridiculed everything I wrote. I went on to become a high school history teacher for 33 years and earned a MA degree in religious studies and an MA degree in alcohol/drug addiction treatment. I am about to publish the first of 4 cartoon books. Sometimes the criticisms we get whether delivered kindly or unkindly should be examined realistically but we should never let anyone be dismissive of our personhood , our creations and our potential.

    1. Yea i published the post by mistake. I was writing it down for the sake of it. But i hit the publish button. I dont want that teacher to be rediculed. I still respect her but the damage she did was too grave to forgive.
Besides those who do not guide and encourage students are not teachers.

  6. Hi Shifa,

Thanks for the follow at Kallu’s curio corner. Your poems are beautiful. Do not worry about the ‘About me’, your poems speak for themselves.
    Happy writing,
    – Kallu

  7. You have written heartfelt poems. As you have said, this is a way of expressing youirself. Keep writing! Thank you for following my blog and hope that some of my poems encourage you, Shifa.

  8. The first year I got married (at 19!) my husband and I ate chips galore in our pull out couch the first year!! Ah the freedom…still do eat in bed but my daughter gets pretty bossy about that when I visit her now. She’s way more strict than I was.

  9. Hi there!

I’m looking forward to reading your other postings…..

  12. Thank you very much for looking at my page. I loved your heading, about your blog being your kingdom, and your words being your subjects. That is such a lovely way to describe how I feel but would be too shy to express. I do feel pretty king-like when I blog, and I appreciate your expressing that. I’ll bet you also liked to play “King of the Mountain” when you were small. Nothing like pushing people off your mountain. 🙂

  13. hey thanks for the follow…Looks like your kingdom was worth visiting !!! ….checked through few of your posts…written very well madame….kane and abel is definitely one time read…Good Luck with your work

  16. Hi there, I was referred to your blog by a friend of mine of Facebook. You should definitely be proud of your writing skills, and incidentally, after watching your blog, it reminds me of continuing my own – which I’ve left since 2008 (and then did a major overhaul of the site a month back, to start everything anew).
Haven’t got the time since then to work on the blog, but well, after looking through some of your poems, I cannot resist posting my own! (more so because of the similarities in the content (-: )
Although I disagree a little on what you wrote about “love”, I can totally agree to the fact that it’s the situations which lead to what kind of a person we are – so I respect your opinion. (-:

    1. I am honored you think my writing is good. I cannot expect ppl to agree with my opinions and ideas ofcourse.
      So it doesnt really matter.
Blogging is a very good hobby. Dont stop posting. 🙂
      Good luck!

      1. Thank you and welcome. (-: Finally came up with a little story from the pages of a 3 year old diary (instead of the poems!) – a bit later than expected though. Maybe you’ll want to check it out when you’re free. (-:
        Best, M
